Sorry you're here, welcome aboard. Read the threads. Read them as far back as you can stand. You'll learn lots. It'll scare the crap out of you but you'll learn....you need to learn. You need to learn about the meds, little hints about the side effects (like 6oz. of "from the press apple juice" keeps you regular as clock work if some meds block you up). You'll learn your case is completely unique yet there are common things you'll share with others.

First thing to start working on and controlling is the most important real estate in the world, the six inches between your ears. People that don't have RA will not and do not understand......quit expecting them to understand but at the same time don't close them out. You can get through this, you will get through this. You will do more than endure, you will live life.

I'll be 51 in July and I was diagnosed with RA last summer. Newbie as well. And yes, read as much as you can by reading back as far as you can go. Our journey's may be different but also so many the same. You're not alone.

I'm in my late 60's and was diagnosed in my early 40's. It's been a long road, mostly because way back then we had no biologics. Times have changed, modern medicine has moved forward, and things are so much better for so many of us.

I could be one of the success stories who doesn't visit forums such as these. But I feel it is important to share my experiences and let others know that, with the right treatment, life can be good again.
