I can't see that it has made a bit of difference. Like so many other things, there's no way to know how I would feel without it, but . . . There is a correlation between autoimmune disease and low levels of D. No one knows which is the cart and which is the horse, just that a high number of people with one also have the other.
on diagnosis, i tested at 3. yes 3.
i can't tell any difference between that testing time and now. no wait a minute, I feel worse but that's just the disease progressing over the years.

My doctor told me everyone should take D because we are a society that avoids the natural sunlight these days, always slathering on sunscreen. She told me almost everyone would test low.
Mine were dx quite low. I take 50,000 IU per week. After one year, my blood levels of D were back in normal range. Bone density in my hip has increased, which reduces my chances for a broken bone! I live on a ranch in Texas, so I get plenty of sun. Guess my own body can't make it any more
