When you know you should take it easy. Bottoms of my feet feel so bruised and every step I take hurts so bad. Joints in my fingers are so sore and tender to the touch. Not a good day for driving. BUT I've got to do what I have to do. My 17 year old son has an IEP meeting later this morning so I have to get up and get ready to go to that. He's on the Autism spectrum and bipolar. I admire all the challenges he's faced and how far he has come! Going from a total inclusive special ed school (from 5th grade through 8th grade) to being able to go to main stream high school ........ I am so proud of him! So thinking of all he has been through I can do this!!

I'm glad that you have found the challenges of your son's as inspirational.... that's awesome. You must be very proud.

i adore the MOUNTAINS my kids have put in front of me also Jenowen - they do a great job of keeping myself involved in their stuff versus my stuff. plus I am proud of both of them also. kudos to your son for a challenging journey. and kudos to you for offering your parental leadership. puts the RA in perspective sometimes, no?

Bless your heart and his. You must be so proud of him. Makes you feel you can move mountains no matter how you feel. My husband is BP so I know the challenges and daughter was ADHD with many issues when she was young. Kudos to you!

It really does put it in perspective!

He's come so far. IEP went well. He's on track for a certificate of completion (he's a junior right now) and will be able to walk at graduation when he's a senior with that. He will get services until he's 26. He wants to go to community college for computer tech. He's currently taking computer tech college courses at school and will earn a total of 6 college credits for that if he can bring his grade up to a B-. He currently has a C+ and they said he has plenty of time to get the grade up and keep it up with help. I was very relieved we don't have to worry about him also getting a GED to go this route. I wasn't 100% sure how it worked.

Now I'm going and going to rest and take an epsom salt bath and try to get the pain in my hands and feet to calm down a little. Hot cup of tea and a good book sounds amazing right now!

Next up is the IEP for my almost 12 year old. All 4 of my boys have IEPs in school. Matthew is the most severe of our 4 boys. My other 3 are doing great and have one mostly for reading comprehension and ADD type symptoms. Just for a little extra help so they can reach their full potential. We are lucky to have such a wonderful school district!
