I'm really down. I'm having a very bad shingles outbreak (I have chronic shingles, have had them about 7 months). I've had to stop taking plaquenil so that my immune system can work on the shingles. I have shingles on my face, in my eyes, my back and shoulders and elbows, and my butt. Some of them are infected. I am now on antivirals all the time and antibiotics for the infection. They are going to keep me on the antivirals long term this time. Anyway, I am feeling miserable and depressed and scared. All kind words will be appreciated.

Thank for checking on me. I am still "shingled" but I think I am slowly getting better. I am on a continued dose of antivirals now, as well as an antibiotic (and some vistaril for the itchiness) and this seems to be a good combination. The weather has gotten cooler here and that is helpful. I feel blessed to be cared about by so many here on DS and that is also very helpful. I had to miss my friend's wedding shower, but I am hoping to be healed enough to go to her wedding in 2 weeks. Anyway, I am slowly but surely recovering! I appreciate your concern.
