I can tell you its due to the fact I've not got my Remicade yet this year! It stopped because my insurance changed at the 1st of the year. I've been trying to get my Dr's nurse to set up my treatments but the more I call and ask about it the madder she gets at me. So this morning 1st thing I called her again, asking what, when and how I can get my Remicade and listen to this!! She said Karen you act like you want me to get this done ASAP and things like this take time and your not understanding, you want me to just pull you an appt out of the air and it takes time!!!! OMG ITS MAY!! And I've not had a treatment this year! it's been 5 months! how long does it take? Later I talked to the receptionist and she said "Karen the reason it's taking so long is because you won't come in for an appt with the Dr and the nurse is trying to do this without you seeing him" NOT TRUE!! I told her no one has ever told me to come in. I would love to come in and see the Dr. just tell me when and I'll be there. That left her speechless. All she could say was a little OH! Anyway, thats my bi__h for the day. Or should I say bi__h's for the day!
Thank y'all for listening to me, Y'all are great. I know that right now I'm a little (a lot) crazy. No sleep! and so much Pain! I'm really out of my head right now so thank you! I'll let you know what happens to me. When I total lose my mind!!!
Well, again thanks for your time and your ear!
I hope y'all are all doing better than I am!!!!
Sorry, but this is a "sore" spot with me!
Benedryl is the no 1 pediatric anxiety medication for acute problems. I have had 4 psychiatrists tell me this about my stepson for his anxiety. My psychiatrist feels it is the most benign medication we can use to treat ourselves. Depending on your weight 25 to 50 mg every 8 hours.
90 days should've been the most that you should've had to wait for an answer from your insurance company. Even then, your rheumy should've had an alternative plan of action.
Whenever something like this happens or you have a question. Please, don't wait for your doctor's office to do the research for you. Call them. There is a toll free number on the back of your card. Most have a nurse on call line, if you need advice.
Sadly, I have found that most physician's offices do not follow through with this. My stepson's first pediatrician's office went so far as to refuse to verify coverage for routine vaccines, etc. However, they wanted to charge me an additional office visit to come back. I wasn't even allowed to call them while we were in the office. This was a first for me and I was LIVID! We never went back there.
I am probably spoiled because we had an awesome pediatrician/family doctor when I was young. The bedside manner, quality of care, etc was no less than stellar. Even when we didn't have health insurance, their office had a cash payment schedule (not common for that period of time) and my parent's could make payments. We never got charged an office call to see the nurse or to have a vaccine. Radiographs and basic labs were done in house.
I hope that you are able to get some relief quickly!
I thought I had said it somewhere that my insurance changed the 1st of the year. well what happened was I had to stop working and go on SSD and the 1st of the year my Medicare started thats when the nurse started treating me different. She told me in the begining that even with Medicare my part would be 1000 just for the office visit and that I couldn't afford it. Sorry I could go on and on with things she said and did but I am glad she will not be the one to stick me any more! lol!
Hope you found a Dr your happy with and thank you again!
