My hands hurt some in the mornings (no kidding right?) and I do alot of keyboarding at work (data entry). I found some great compression gloves on Amazon called "IMAK" arthritis gloves. I bought one pair and loved them so much I bought 2 more pair. They don't have tips on the fingers but run up past the second knuckle on the fingers. They relieve some of the soreness in my finger joints and I find they also protect my hands when I bang a knuckle into something (that can be SO painful), and they keep the essential oils I use from getting all over everything I touch. I wear them most of the day and sometimes at night to keep the swelling down. I am hooked.
Also, I found a great book on on Amazon called "Living Well With Autoimmune Disease" Everything your doctor didn't tell you.
It is a wealth of information on the disease (gets pretty scientific in the beginning to holistic treatments, leaky gut syndrome, etc. It is well worth the read. I have yet to finish it but I am 3/4 of the way through it.
I was just diagnosed 2 weeks ago with this disease and have gone on a fastrack of information gathering...

That was before my diagnosis last month. Currently I am on 10mg Prednisone, and I started 7.5 mg MTX 3 weeks ago (which I HATE). The meds have taken away the pain in my knees and shoulder and neck. My back is affected too and some days are better than others. The main area of ongoing irritation is my hands. the gloves are great and I am reading EVERYTHING I can get my hands on (no pun intended).
thanks for the welcome! I appreciate you support. I am currently looking into other treatment options and some holistic approaches. I am not one to roll over and say "ok I'm happy now, I have a drug to fix this" NOT in my world....I am angry and determined to fnd a better way :-)
