My vote is for memorial weekend so that we can all easily extend the retreat to being longer.

And I also vote we do it in the same place with another sweatlodge. And s'mores was good. And so was hot dogs. And 3am trips to walmart.

UH-OH....can't do Memorial weekend....sorry. I plan on making it a four day trip next year anyway...I've already requested off work for it:) Oh hey who wants to car pool!? I'm great at driving it, so I'm absolutely NOT flying into OKC International Airport. *chirpy voice airline lady* "you can take a bus to Dallas"...what's that!? OKC style of telling you to get the heck away from my ticket desk!

Oh I forgot...requests...I request a gas grill and a BonFire with chairs all around..to keep us out of Walmart at 3am. I'll bring the hotdogs (James liked them) and I would like to come early to make some pasta salads and other carb loaded stuff for the weekend meals...Oh and I request Bill make the fry bread again! And he sings at least one Celine Dion song or Barry Manilow...

After school graduations in May? Later May? Even early June... I'll be graduating with my RN. Can't miss that ;) The current place sounds amazing!

January gets my vote. Snow and bonfires are a great combo... it makes hotdogs taste better, too. Just sayin'...

My only slight concern about a public holiday weekend is that some people might find it more difficult re family commitments or finding childcare. Also I'm guessing it would drive up travelling costs for a lot of people, because the cheap fares don't tend to be on offer for bank holidays or other high-demand times. (As I discovered when I wanted to get a cheap flight to Edinburgh for New Year's Eve!)

So my vote would be for a quieter weekend, when it's less likely that the world and his dog will be trying to travel at the same time - lower cost and higher comfort :)

Kaye, it wasn't hot at all in OK in May...I was sort of disappointed since I packed only 2 pair of pants and the rest shorts, cuz it was supposed to be hot. Got kinda chilly in the wee morning hours outside partaking in ceremony after ceremony I can do a weekend similar this years.

Nope, no Memorial Day for me either...my wedding anniversary, so...couldn't come. Yes, weekend before. I want a funeral. Other than that, all is okay. Oh, and sorry, no winter...I hunt (don't hate me), and I couldn't leave then. I am my husband's partner, he'd cry.

Was there anything wrong with a similar weekend as this year...middle of May? Kardy when is your graduation? I would like to be there to watch you graduate, maybe we can make it around that time..isn't graduation usually held during the week? ROAD TRIP...we could go watch Kardy graduate then head on to OKC! What do you guys think?

Memorial Day is May 31, so the weekend before it is May 22, 23, 24. If school is out then, it seems perfect. According to the public school system of Muhlenburg County, KY, the last day of school there is May 19, unless there are make-up days. But would that mean Kardy's graduation would be that weekend, too?

Unless the school are like here where the seniors graduate a week or so before school ends...That weekend works for me May 22

If it's Friday through Sunday, wouldn't that be May 21-23? Sigh. That weekend would pose a dilemma. If only I could be at two places at one time...
