Renal cell carcinoma, also known by a gurnistical tumor, is the most common form of kidney cancer arising from the renal tubule. It is the most common type of kidney cancer in adults. Initial therapy is with surgery. It is notoriously resistant to radiation therapy and chemotherapy, although some cases respond to immunotherapy.

Thank you for your kind message! My surgery is August 30th. My CT shows that there is no Mets and the tumor is 4.5 cm with no renal vein or lymph node involved. I’m hopeful that they can do a partial. Nevertheless prayers are welcomed

Hi...so glad you came back...my mind was thinking the worst!

Not sure what "Mets" is and the tumor with no renal vein or lymph nodes involved. and no shadows, If it were me, I'd get a second opinion. Just bring radiologist report and if you can get a print out of scan...dr could also maybe go on line to get scan from your medical records. I'm also suprised that you got a c scan instead of mri: My dr said MRI.

If """cancer""" has been ruled out, why then is surgery to remove Any of your kidney? Also, ask if your adrenal gland would be taken.....ask to have it Kept! As this regulates do much...I had mine removed when whole kidney came out, one of the reasons I'm so tired all the time.

Please do keep in touch :) Also, ask your dr for a referal to a renal dietitian to learn about what foods are good for kidney and how much water you should drink each day....it's said 1./2 your body weight. What you eat can Really Effect kidney function, especially protein!

No metastasis meaning they didn’t see and spread of tumors elsewhere. The doctor still thinks it’s probably RCC that’s why he wants to remove the kidney partial or total.

    If I come to DS and it won't do anything when I click "Login", I go to a post, click and then click "Leave a Reply".  Then it will let me log in.Of course, sometimes DS just goes to "Error 504".  Then I can't log in.
