Renal Cell Carcinoma (Kidney Cancer) Support Group
Renal cell carcinoma, also known by a gurnistical tumor, is the most common form of kidney cancer arising from the renal tubule. It is the most common type of kidney cancer in adults. Initial therapy is with surgery. It is notoriously resistant to radiation therapy and chemotherapy, although some cases respond to immunotherapy.
First I want to say thank you and God bless to all of you who have been SO kind to me on this board. I pray that you are all doing well.
I just got the results from my first scan....the Doc says there is no apparent sign of any more cancer at this time. He said I have a pretty good sized hematoma, but not to worry about it. I also show a little infection in the area where the kidney was removed, and have a small amount of blood in my urine....but, all in all, he said he thinks I'm doing just fine. Of course, as we understand all too well, he said that there are no markers for this should it rear it's ugly head again, and I just have to go for my scans and pay attention to my body. This illness is so scary and so sneaky. I guess all any of us can do is live everyday like it's our last, and be SO thankful that we have each other to support us through it all.

i just wanted you to know how happy i am with your results, such great news !! After we chatted you made my day, it's so good to hear the good news of this disease and as we talked i hadn't even realized you wrote this..

I had to see my primary today....having some pain and discomfort for a couple of days, so they had me come in and give a urine specimen. They found significant blood and infection, so they have prescribed antibiotics. I'm sure all will be fine in a few days.
