Reading Circle Community Group

A group for folks in all walks of life in any situation that want to expand their minds or occupy themselves away from a pressing matter and delve into reading good literature. Activities will include but are not limited to discussions on books read, recommendations on what to read, and critical analysis to broaden appreciation for old and new literature.

I've never listened to them. Do they do much editing like film or add sounds or anything?

I am not certain. I believe some are read by use of a well-voiced narrator and some go lengths and add suspenseful music.

DLR77 is right. Some read directly from the book and some add to it. They try to change voices when a another person is supposed to be speaking, but you can still tell that it is the same reader. Some do add music.

Some are marked "abridged" or "unabridged" - meaning that the abridged one has parts not included in the reading. I have never been able to tell a difference in the reading as far as quality of the reading.

My friend listens to them alot and really enjoys them. Unless I'm listening to them while driving, I fall asleep to them...It doesn't matter how good or bad the reading is...

I listen to audio books more than I read, and not because I don't enjoy physically reading, because it is my favorite pass time, but because I am a delivery driver, so being in my car so much makes it easier.
Now most audiobooks are just the reading, and it is up to you to decide if you like the reader, for me, they have to put the right emotion into the words
Now books with sounds are graphic audios, and they are like movies that you just listen to. There are different voice actors for each character, and their are sounds from the crackling of a fire to someone screaming in the distance.
