I should clarify. Most of my friends are women, but as I am disabled, I don't talk to people in person.
I'm not kidding about anything I'm saying. Please, I need any helpe I can get.
I'm 30 now, but at age 16 and 17, I was working at a restaurant. I was the only man there usually. Since I worked in the back, no customers were able to see anything happening. The women would always make moves on me, which was one thing in itself. No matter what I said, nor how I said it, they wouldn't stop. I know you may be thinking "why didn't you report it to the manager/owner?" That's the problem, even the managers and owner were in on this. This eventually led to me almost being raped. If it were not for the fact that just one friend of mine, a guy, was coming into work that day and found me in time to grab my hand and pull me away, I'd have been in trouble. I was pinned down by 6 women, two of which were obese, so even though I was strong back then, my limbs were pinned down and I had nothing I could do without actually hurting them badly in self defense. I feared if I did so, I'd have been blamed, maybe even sent to jail or worse for harming them. After all, most of the time men aren't taken seriously when they claim they were raped, abused, attacked, etc. Even then, many men are too scared to mention it as it would make them feel weak to say women raped them. This is one reason there aren't as many reports as there should be. I know a lot of guys who have been either raped, or almost raped, and they didn't report it for fear of not being believed, or just because they were afraid they'd be looked down on by other men.
Anyway, what happened is that now, 13 years later, I still find myself very uncomfortable around women. I can talk to them on the phone, online, via webcam, whatever. It's just that if I am around a woman in person, even a nurse or doctor, I am immediately assuming the worst. I'm ready to defend myself, and have my eyes locked on any sort of sudden movements they might make. This is made worse by the fact that I am no longer strong, but quite weak due to spinal cord injuries, a seriously damaged right arm, and nervous system problems. So I feel like even one could overpower me. I also fear that if I were to retaliate, I'd be arrested for it! I mean, if the typical person saw that a man was okay, and a woman was hurt badly, and the man claimed "I defended myself from her! She was trying to molest me!" What do you think the typical person would assume? Yeah. I practiced martial arts when I was a teen, so I know how to defend myself, but I have little strength and mobility. So the only thing I could do now is to use techniques that would actually hurt someone quite badly using weak points on the body. This means I couldn't simply restrain someone, I'd have to hurt them! I don't want to hurt anyone, and I don't want to get in trouble with the law for being misunderstood or being told I'm a liar!
So, what do I do? How can I get past this? The rational side of me knows that the vast majority of women are not out to molest me, but the irrational side of me thinks almost all of them ARE out to get me.
If you've been attacked, molested, or worse, you probably know what I mean, right? What do you do to calm yourself down around the opposite sex? My doctors, my neurologist, they're women. So not only do I have a bad phobia about leaving the house, but with this combined with that phobia, it's a terrible experience to go to the doctor, hospital, etc. I can't even ask for a mal neurologist either, since it took me SO long to get recommended to a neurologist to have my nerve damage treated.
I appreciate any help. I'm not joking about any of this. To me, going to my doctor or just being near any woman in person is like being in a room with a dangerous wild animal. My fight or flight response is ready at all times, and I just feel like sprinting out of the hospital, but I can't actually run anymore due to my legs and back.
Thank you in advance!
