I am a huge gore hound. I own a vast collection of horror films and several grotesque video games. Recently, I began spending time with a girl from my rape survivors group, and she told me that she hates horror movies and thinks that they are noting but gory porn. She said that she is severally triggered by them.
Is this common? I have never been triggered by a horror movie. I have been told that it is but I have no idea.

yes, I get triggered by horror films , no matter how funny the acting is. I can't explain it, it just brings back all of those horrible feelings and thoughts of the rape.

I used to watch a lot of horror films. I used to try to find the worst of the worst in terms of disturbing film, but I started to realize that the movies triggered my self injury. So I think they were triggering subconsciously. But I'm like you, I like horror movies, I just can't watch as many now. And as far as horror that includes sexual violence, I find it difficult to deal with those, but if I was at home I would just skip those parts.

Oh, and I do think it's common to be triggered by horror movies because of the (usual) extreme violence. Having said that, I do know survivors who are big fans of horror movies. I'm not too sure why, but some are.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
