Its almost been a full year since my rape and I'm 17. I have known this guy for a long time and I;ve always had a crush on him. Weve been getting to know eachother a lot and he likes me and I like him. He asked me to prom and he wants to date me but id like to go on a few dates first. Everytime i talk to him i forget my rape more and more and feel less ashamed and feel good about myself. Hes been more helpful than therapy has been for me and its a great feeling. I know he wouldnt ever hurt me, hes never had a girlfriend before and hes very respectful toward woman. He makes me feel really good but i fear intimacy. I want to have a normal relationship and I know I'm young but it might help me get over my rape a little more. I just fear I might freak out or cry, and I dont want that at all. All i really want to say is that I've finally stopped thinking about it as much and I just wanted to share that. :)
