I am ALWAYS open to suggestions for designs. Some women prefer emblems that suggest pride, but they don't want the specific issue of rape disclosed--I could understand that. any ideas? Maybe just, "I am a survivor." or something similar?

Going back for one of those womens track suits this afternoon. I need one for working out since I have lost a bit of weight and this one is perfect!

I have always wondered about that 'symbol of pride' and such. I mean, many diseases and cancers and such have ribbons of a certain color. To your knowledge is their any ribbon color signifying rape in particular? Maybe even just a ribbon like you see with one simple word like 'Hope' or 'Courage' or 'Strength' might be good for some, as they would still be able to select whom to disclose personal information to. Myself...I am ready for the whole world to see what I'm talking about...Lol!

Yep! the teal ribbon is the icon for Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and has become a standard for rape recovery. This is why my book is teal-colored.

Well....how bout that teal ribbon and one simple word...'hope', 'survivor', 'courage', 'strength'....you pick the word...so many to choose from...

I like you idea of having something a little less obvious to the public. Please don't get me wrong I am proud of who I am I just don't think that I am ready to wear something that tells everyone or makes people ask the question. I love the eagle and would defiantly but a zip up, hoodie and or tank with just a simple copy of the eagle on the corner or the full back . Thank you for all of this.. I can't wait for my book to get here!!

The one with a lot more writing is Shannon's prayer/letter for survivors. Read the whole thing, not just the first few lines, to see the positivity of it:

You are a victim. You need to cry and hit rock bottom now. As harsh as that sounds, it is a cleansing process for your soul in order to become a survivor. You dont deserve to be hurt anymore. The secrets and your haunting dreams can be released from the chains you carry everywhere you go. Be gentle to your heart.

Dont drown in the waves of doubt that will crash upon you. Dont beat yourself up anymore. It was not your fault that this has happened, and every time you feel like it is, just read the words over and over again until you are convinced.

You are loved. I love you, God loves you, and every woman who has survived loves you. The world can be cruel, but the demons from your past are weaker than you are today. Stand tall, and as you walk through the rest of your life remember you are not alone.

Every one of us survivors is with each other all the time, we walk with each other every day, and I pray for you every night. I pray you dont lose hope. I pray that you will win this battle and come out alive and strong. I know that you feel wounded right now, but as all wounds do this will become a scar, and just as a little child is proud of their scars you will be proud.

You can make it through this. You are precious and now you belong to an exclusive and proud group of beautiful people who are always there for each other.

Some days are going to be harder to get through than others, and on those days take extra care of your spirit. Thank God you are hearing this letter today because unfortunately some women dont make it through this. Unlike so many people, you need to not give up. Remember, you are not alone. Thank God we both are not alone. Be courageous, and when you feel powerless and hollow, and when you feel weak and weary, tell yourself you survived. Let your spirit feel the peace that is around you.

Is there any option to have the resurrection after rape slogan removed? I'd love to buy a hoodie with the poem on it but it'd be a tad bit to personal to have resurrection after rape on my back or chest I feel
