Friends, feel free to see my recent journaling for updates on things going on with me. I always appreciate feedback comments!

Im eager for those reviews on Amazon! I hope Ive earned high marks with this, so lets see those four- and five-star reviews!
I wanted to issue a few words for all of you as this book is being bundled and labeled for shipping, because I can anticipate some of the response I may get here.
First, this book is by no means complete. Many times I made inquiries about what topics are most important to all of you, and I tried to include as much as possible, but its not a topic that I can completely cover. There will always be some issues that just didnt find their way in. Im very proud that I wrote this book during a careful habit of checking in over and over, seeking your feedback, and working to consider the voices of many people, as opposed to simply filling the pages with my own opinions and words. But please understand that its not exhaustive. I intend to keep writing and perhaps release bonus chapters as free downloads to those who have bought the book.
I wrote this book with the point of view that women would use this during therapy for rape. Of course, you can use this book on your own too, but for ethical and liability considerations I have to write from the assumption that a woman who reads it will also have therapeutic support, because it is not ethical to dispense therapy over the net, or out of a book. Use the book the best you can, and please understand the reason I refer/defer so often to your therapist.
Im here to answer questions, of course, but I cannot offer therapeutic care over the internet. For one thing, it simply wouldnt work. For another, its flat-out illegal and I could lose my license. And finally, it would drain me of every last bit of energy and emotional stability I have! Im so excited to see the impact this will have, but Im also worried that it might flood me with What do I do? Help me! messages. Im just one regular guy, I work all day at this, and I have a family and life in the evenings. I have to be very careful about limits and boundaries, and I have to be extremely cautious about not stumbling into the role of becoming crisis intervention for anyone who would benefit far more by locating a personal support, such as a therapist, for those issues.
I am also very fond of the women who tell their stories in this book, and two of them are named on the cover. Shannon Doherty and Victoria Bailey are two of the most powerful influences in my life today, outside of my family, and I am so proud to see their contributions being used to help others. But I also dont want them to be flooded in pressures and desperate pleas for crisis help, either. They are fellow survivors, not celebrities and therapists, who are doing the best they can. Victoria is moving to pursue her law career in another state, and we visit a couple of times a week by phone or face-to-face ("Settle down!"). Shannon works full-time at a hectic schedule and takes care of a lot of family needs at night. She will continue her education in the Fall toward her goal of becoming a licensed therapist for traumatized women. I see her once a week, average, and we communicate by phone/email only once or twice a week.
Both of these women are amazing, and I am sure they will contribute as much encouragement and wisdom as they can. But they are NOT endless sources of healing, answers, advice, and solutions to conflict. They had to suffer intense agony to do this work for over three hours in session with me EVERY day for weeks and weeks starting in November 2007, and if they could have accomplished the same results over the internet they would have done that instead. Please send them your warmest messages and accolades, but it would not be fair to perceive them as survivor celebrities who can tell any other woman what she ought to do to overcome a given crisis. Please do not feel abandoned or offended if they simply cannot respond in-depth to each message they will get after this book hits the street. At the same time, they are putting themselves fully out there for YOU, to share their stories in the effort to reach other women, so please be kind and generous with positive feedback and notes for them.
Please recommend this book to anyone you can. Those of us who do this work dont make rock-star money at this, so this project isnt about greed and income, but I hope it will help my family, financially. I have a lot invested in this, so your support really matters to me.
I look forward to your comments, reviews, and suggestions in the next week as you each begin to sit down and read your copies!

If standing in front of my mailbox waiting for the mail to arrive would speed the arrival of your book, I'd do it. This seriously is amazing to me Matt. I was making a decision to live or take my own life when I read your post about writing this book. That was not too long ago. Now, it's done; I'm not. I lived and I will read and use the exercises in this guide. I will take your excellent advice and i will dig into this thing that affects me daily, with the Therapist who is here, and who knows me. And in a really nice way, we will all continue on this journey together. I hope you don't mind if every now and again I ask for your opinion on something I write. Cause, I really like your opinions. You are a wise and wonderful soul, God bless!

Of course! None of this post is code for "quit bugging me," and I love writing back and forth with all my friends here. I'm just being VERY careful with my professional ethics, so that I don't cross any legal lines about offering guidance or clinical intervention during crisis, which is a very strict issue with social workers.

I completely understand and respect that. Thank you for all of the help, advice, and support you have given us already. I can't wait for the book!

This is most definitely understandable. Congratulations on your book! Wishing you, Shannon, & Victoria nothing but five stars and positive feedback. :D
