I was date raped about a year and a half ago when i was 16. i was angry, confused and all the other emotions that go along with it. Lately i have found comfort in poetry. i wrote a poem (not knowing where it was going) and looking at it now gives me strength and i am now accepting of what happened. i hope this poem can help some of you like it helped me and a few of my friends.

you did not touch my soul that night, for it was in the corner.
Looking down as my clothes came off, no particular order.
It may have heard my silent screams, the pleas of continuous "No's",
It may have seen the flowing streams, of the tears running down my nose
My soul could only watch so much, while you had your way.
As my body fled from your room, my soul left in dismay.
My body went on dazed and confused, without a soul to nurture.
My body went on scarred and abused, no hope for the future.
As my soul came back slowly, my body became sane,
i began to think clearly, in my bipolar brain.
Thought looking back at the events, they seem unclear and foggy.
Because that night my soul is safe, you only touched my body.
