This is prolly in the wrong section but idk know where to say it it so here i go. Ok so i haven't was forced to to do things with my ex he wouldn't take no for an answer. He told me to hold on he was almost there. i cant get those sickness word out my head.on the 26 this month it would be one year kinda crazy i can remember little detail down to the t of that night. it makes me want to puke. i have to get over this if i want the things in life i want, well here comes the topic i don't know if it belongs here my doctor told suggest i start bc (birth control )but it makes me feel super dirty and gross yes its just a pill, but i'm not planning on doing anything.I wasn't planning on doing anything before either. he was my first i have heard that you never forget your first gezzees really? awesome. i haven't started therapy for the r....a....p.....e......i hate that word. i was 25 it thought i was ok i gonna have sex when i got married but i said no and he didn't like that word and told to hold on he was almost there, i kinda really scared that when i start therapy for the rape it will set me back and it will regress instead of improving. idk really why it makes me feel so dirty i don't know why i feel like this is this normal when you this happens or no ? i haven't really told anyone i tried to tell my mom but i think she thought i was kidding and laugh it off. I''m really serious. like i'm almost i'm tears i'm so serious, i feel like i'm doing this alone i'm quietly working on things on my own. i just don't know really i don't every time i take the pill i think back almost a year ago i have only been on the pill for 2 days now. i'm thinking about stopping. i don't like this

Nothing wrong with counseling don't worry so much about a regress life goes on.......but you gotta deal with and face the past to really move on to the future......counseling is a great start you need the support system....maybe think of domestic violence or rape group counseling sessions my friend said that helped so much cause she felt so alone.....as for birth control out doesn't make you a bad dirty person... its mainly used to protect yourself from pregnancy but other people take it too for medical reasons such as intense cramps and acne......I honestly just think you would feel better if you found ways to vent and cope with the crazy emotions

i'm so sorry that this happened to you.....i've ben on the pill for about 4 years for weird periods and stuff, but i wouldn't stop the pill unless you okay it with your doctor.....the feelings that you have are completely normal after you expereince rape....i felt that way after my rape too.......i would start therapy....recovery is a PROCESS..........processing this rape is probably the best thing for you know.....your therapist can also be part of a support system......it seems like your family isn't the best support system and your therapist can help you cope with these feeligs as well.......hope this helped!!! and as long as you have DS you're never alone!!!!

I think if you scan older posts here you will find a lot of people sharing your feelings.

I am so sorry this has happened to you. It is very unfair that a normal thing like birth control would trigger such painful feelings.
It isn't right that we have to put all the effort cleaning up a mess that someone created against our will and yet we do.

One thought. The guy who raped you was NOT your first because rape is not sex. Yup, it uses the same body parts, but that is the only thing in common. Just because someone puts food in your mouth, doesn't mean you are eating. Just because someone puts something in your vagina doesn't mean you are having sex.

What makes sex, sex is that you chose to share your body. Otherwise it is no more like sex than a pap smear. it is merely someone inserting something into one of your orifices.

By the way - unless you have a medical issue (e.g. excessive period bleeding), I'm not sure why you need to be on a birth control pill. And even if you do have a medical reason, there may be alternate treatments.

I'd talk this out with your doctor. Some doctors have an attitude that all young adults should be on the pill because they're going to do it even if they say they aren't. However, this is YOUR body and YOUR health. You have the right to make an informed choice.

This is not your fault...you did not have sex, you were raped.
Counselling has helped me immensely in realing with the sexual abuse and the rapes...I hope it works for you.
