I couldn't go to work. I can't face my clients and put on the caring happy persona people expect when they see me.
How do I even begin to answer their questions. How are you? What's been happening? Etc.
Then leading to conversations where they confide in me telling me about their problems and Insecurities expecting reassurance and guidance. How call I provide this when I'm struggling to do that for myself?
It's been less than 3 weeks since I was raped by my cousin and I'm still struggling to life.
I can't think straight and logically, I can't eat, I struggle to sleep and when I do it's nightmares. I've already struggled and relapsed with anxiety since I was 8 years old and this has been a very big setback in my progress and recovery. I'm a mother of a seven year old daughter, a wife, a student, a friend, a business owner, a friend, a diabetic and in between all that I am a victim still trying to balance everything. But the weight of what happened is so heavy it makes everything seem so tedious, difficult and tiresome.
Please tell me I'm not in this alone, that someone understands what it feels like to be living a life after surviving rape.

I was sexually assaulted as a kid. I find it hard to accept that another person's actions caused me so much harm. He made bad choices and now I am paying the price. Stupid PTSD!
I didn’t start dealing or talking about my rape and other abuse till many years later.
Actually when I joined this site is when I really started opening up.. reading others stories, finding out that the things I’ve told myself were lies, the things I believed were also lies.. and the hardest thing I ever learned was...
I didn’t deserve what happened to me, and it wasn’t my fault...
two very hard things to wrap my mind around...
through many years and many set backs, and very nice folks on here just talking to me, sharing their experiences... all of this has brought me to this point, and now I’m sharing with you the things that I was told when I first came here..
You are not alone, we do understand the things your going through..
We’re here if you would like to talk.. as much or as little as you want to do.
