I can say it has got a little better over the last year. I am with someone I really trust and he listens. I made the decision to tell him what happened. He has been a life saver and saying it out loud to him has made it posible for me to see I need help.
This part will get better.
Good luck
I can say we are on the same damaged road and I am will to endure it with you. If you ever need to talk please feel free to message me. I know I feel better just knowing I am not alone in this confusing mess of a situation.
take care,
If it's any help, I think everyone's been through that stage of questioning and wondering "what really happened there?" - it's a completely normal trauma symptom.
I still have to cope with occasional bouts of insomnia; it seems to get worse if there's other stresses in my life, such as work-related. Haven't yet found a perfect solution to that problem. I know all the right things I should be doing to help - the trouble is remembering to do them when I start to feel the stress.
It takes a lot of courage to take that first, hard step toward healing. Take your time and move forward on your time-table. The PTSD will probably get worse before it gets better, but it WILL get better.
Remember to breathe and don't forget to make time for yourself to reward those advances you make on the way. As the old, tired cliche goes: this is a marathon, not a sprint.
You will get where you need to be when you need to get there.
