I was exposed to a rabid bat lat July. I had the full series of post expossure rabies vaccine. For the last 6 month i have had a daily headache, pulsing sensation in my eyes, and stiff neck/joints.
My symptoms were so bad that my Doctor ran a rabies tieter and it came back showing that i have no rabies antibodies!! Now i have to have the whole rabies post exposure series again!!
Has anyone had any similar problems, post exposure?

I am currently under treatment to prevent rabies,I am taking the "new" shots! These have caused me headaches,dizziness,and the feeling of being tired most the day! I have had no problems with my eyes, However the doctor at my local "ER" did warn me that it could cause eye problems, such as Blurred vision and a "shawdow" type effect. Most of the reports I have read DO claim to have an "EYE" side effect!

I had a pre exposure reaction and I had aches all over after the 3rd shot. I now have minor aching in my hands/fingers which can be uncomfortable and hot flashes/burning sensations in my feet and similar mild aches in my feet. It was all much worse 2 months ago. I had a nerve conduction test which was normal and it has been suggested that it might be polymyalgia.

I also was bitten by a rabid bat! I underwent the series of rabies vaccinations and ran a high fever everyday for a year, experienced chronic fatigue and pain, etc. This was about 13 yrs ago, but I still suffer from side effects of what the doctors called a "bad batch" of the vaccine. I was left with a compromised immune system and suffer from fibromyalgia daily thanks to that bat.
I have heard of a few people having bad side effects from the vaccine. I hope you have gotten to feeling better!
