I remember I had some issues with my throat and my doctor mentioned reflux. That's not what it was (still have no idea what it actually was), but at least it's not unheard of for reflux to be worsened by it, at least according to my doctor. I suggest talking to your doctor and mentioning it to them to see what they say. They may give you something else to combat the reflux without changing anti-coags. Then again, I'm not a doctor, but that's why you should talk to yours! ^_^;

I'm taking Xarelto and can't say that I'm having reflux problems, albeit, I am on meds for acit reflux. I have however, experienced other side effects such as muscle pains and hair shedding. Hair shedding is not considered one of the side effects of Xarelto, but I only noticed it after starting on the medication. I will be stopping the medication on the 27th; so I'm anxious to see how I fair after that.

I had the same problem on Warfarin. Popping antacid tablets is what got me through it. I hated having such bad reflux. It kept giving me horrible chest and back pain, even made me feel short of breath. Now that I'm off Warfarin it seems to be gone.

I had no reflux problems before my PE and since then, I have had it fairly constantly. Not sure if it is the warfarin or not, but since I take no other meds at all, I suspect it. I have never taken Xarelto, so can't help you there. Good luck!

I had terrible reflux problems while I was on warfarin. I always had some trouble, but the warfarin made it really miserable. And extra reflux on top of chest pain from clots isn't exactly helpful when it comes to anxiety. I would ask your doctor about a PPI to offset the acid.

I am taking somac(PPI) at the moment. I've also had surgery to try and stop the reflux. The surgery worked but then clots and lifelong warfarin have caused t to return.
That's why I was wondering f another anti coag might ase less issues.
