Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.

Hey guys..!
I posted on here a few days ago saying I was worried about going away for a few days with severe 'womens problems' massively worsened by being on warfarin.. Turns out that was the least of my worries when I actually got there!
I went to a mini one day music event, travelling from wales to london for it. It was the most amount of activity I have done since coming out of hospital just over 4 weeks ago. I've been feeling fine for the last couple of weeks so thought that with enough rest breaks I would easily be able to handle it! My leg is still a bit messed up (I have foot drop after damaging my knee, the 3 weeks off my feet being the reason I got DVT and PE) so I have been working on building up my walking strength the week before going, making sure I stay on my feet and moving around for a couple of hours at a time to prepare my self for being a london tourist.
I thought everything was fine, walking around and stuff my leg started aching but thats not unusual when I'm wandering around for a while, I took a couple of painkillers and that took the edege off things. It was about 9 in the evening, I'd been fine all day and the band I was about to see was finally coming on..! When I got hit with a feeling I hadn't felt since having my PE 6 weeks ago!
My vision went blurry, everything sounded like it was far away and I felt really woozy.. the exact same thing that happened right before I wound up in hospital. However, after sitting down it went away, and didn't come with the SOB and raised heart rate that I had when I was having the PE. I went to first aid to get my blood pressure checked and everything was fine so they let me go back out. I ended up feeling fine and enjoying the rest of the night.
The next day I woke up and after eating a big breakfast, had a load of heart palps. I've been having heart palps every now and then since coming out of hospital, usually after eating a big meal as well so I wasn't too worried. During the day tho I ended up feeling all weak and wierd, heightened by the fact that I was worrying about everything.. as soon as I sat down for a while tho I felt better again, essentially ruining my london day. I feel fine now after a good nights sleep in my own bed.. but would really appreciate anyone's input.
I am so annoyed that my body is screwed still..! And ruined something that me and my other half, had been looking forward to for months! I resent that It 'betrayed' me almost.. lulling me into a false sense of security, thinking I was all fine, then pooping out on me when I was 200 miles from home!
Sorry for the massive post.. I really hate PEs right now!

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
The only logical answer that I've been given is that it's surprising how much energy and oxygen are needed by your body to digest a meal! If I'm at home its ok as I can just put my feet up for half an hour or so until it passes but its not so easy if I go out for a meal to someone else's house or a restaurant. I guess its just another part of my "new normal" !!
Take care :) I'm glad you're feeling better
I know what you mean about just being pissy and frustrated - I went on my honeymoon to Paris a month after my PE's and couldn't walk around as much as I wanted to....
What bands did you see??
I was going to see Rage Against The Machine.. been wanting to see them ever since I knew they existed, but by the time I was old enough to enjoy gigs they had split up so I always thought I would never have the chance.
I'm feeling a lot better now.. and am starting a new job in just over a week! Exciting and incredibly scary at the same time.. going from doing not much everyday for 3 months, to working 40 hours a week.. I think the first few weeks are going to be interesting! :P
Wish me luck folks!
