Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.
My PE gave me no trouble after month 3 but the DVT is a whole nother story..swollen leg, charley horsesm have to be careful not to bang it...all these hurt!
I do feel tremendously better but as I try to do more I am so tired. My job is a hospice nurse so I have to drive long distances to get to my patients. I do worry about all the driveing when I go back to work. I am comtemplating looking for a different type of job. Maybe an office type situation. Not sure that would be better with all the sitting. I do know that I can't do floor nursing and be on my feet all day. Decisions, decisions. If anyone has any thoughts let e know
I was BEAT. I work in an office so it's not physically taxing, but it's definitely mentally taxing. I don't think I realized the toll the PE, the DVT and just being out of commission in the hosptial would take on me. The first two months were the most difficult, but it slowly got better.
I took 3 months before returning to some light work. I also didn't have a job to return too, which was kind of nice.
Everyone is different and takes a different amount of time to recover
The last 2 months I have had terrible fatigue.
My job is very demanding.
I am going to talk to my doctor.
Maybe I did too much too soon, or maybe I have something else going on.
Thanks for all of your replies.
Love to all
