im doing the anti-anxiety routine here too. remeron (mirtazipine) and ativan. i cant remember who it was now that said they had side effects from remeron...the first few times i took it i wanted to eat everything in the fridge on a daily basis, but that passed after a couple of weeks.

I was put on Lexapro and it made me gain weight, so we switched to Prozac. I have never been a depressed person, but this got to a point where I had to admit I needed help and started seeing a counselor, too. It is very hard to survive something like this and not have the negative with the positive. Sure, you are so thankful to be alive, but at the same time you find yourself so scared it will happen again. I think it is a double edged sword. It can be overwhelming and I don't think things will ever be exactly as they were before my PEs.

I have never needed anti-anxiety meds before my PE; but I had 20 clots in both by lungs and something happened during that time. While in the hospital I started having major panic attacks so bad I had servere shaking and the only thing that calmed it down was morphin! Anyway, I was not treated for my shortness of breathe very quickly-three to four days before going to ER and it did something bad to me. The dr.s put me on cymbolta to help with the panic attacks and anxiety. Within two weeks I was feeling alot better but my pulse would still go up to 150 just walking to my bathroom so the dr.s put me on Klonapin to help slow my heart rate down. It has really helped me; now I am out doing alot more than before. I figure it just might make me heal faster! Hope that helps. I was on no meds before my PE.

My doctor gave me a choice of Xanax or Valium shortly after I got out of the hospital and I was having some minor panic attacks. I fought taking it. Now, 5 months later, I find that I have worse anxiety.
I find that things like traffic really bother me now, when I am not the one driving.
I just think that I didn't accept how close I came to dying at first. It is hitting me now. My doctor took me off of the Coumadin on friday, so now I really feel like I need something.

I tried Lexipro for 5 days 10mg. It made my head feel weird so I stopped. But I am now fighting a numb shoulder due to a bone spur in my neck. A little Zanax 25mg once a week helps alot during trying times.

I am on prozac, topamax, and vistaril. I have PTSD and major depression due to a lot of things.

Hey, i was on prozac before my PE. It helps my with my normal issues but the PE stress is taking its toll on me. I lost 32 pounds in 3 months. Eating healthy and exercising and I have gained 3 pounds back. I know its not alot but with me being someone who copes with stress by eating it's alot. I keep trying to get myself back on the right track but I feel like i have no control over myslf with the PE it just isnt working.I may talk to my doc about raising the dose but I really hate to do that too.
