By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.

...after previously being diagnosed with a PE and you are unsure of what is causing your new chest pain/difficulty breathing?

For the record I am not now having any problems at this point. I will share details of something that recently happened, but want to know before I go into details how others might handle something like this.

Everyone is different. We can't really give you a definite time when you should seek medical attention or go to the er. When I was going through all of this my doctor was great and told me any time something didn't feel right to call him or if the pain is worse or changes to call or go to er. To tell you the truth I called my doctor so much the receptionist new my voice! I had all kinds of little problems like blood in stool, urine, wierd chest pain, wierd severe leg pain ect. I always contacted my doctor for everything. I only went to the er when my doctor sent me. If you feel like something isnt right see your doctor or go to er asap!

Quite ambiguously, some of the symptoms match those of simple recovery as well as re-emerging emergency.

I'm curious too. I feel as if I have good days and bad days and the pain on the bad days scare me. I have an ache that wraps from my chest to my back. Sometimes the ache is higher intensity than other times.

Now here is another part of this question. I didn't have any signs of a PE originally and mine was found by accident. So knowing what is serious and what is not is confusing.

Now calling my doctor is complicated as in I am being followed up per say but looking for a new doctor as mine is going to retire soon as well as other issues.
