Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.

When I got my 3rd PE and found this group, several of us talked about wanting to see the ocean. Don't know why, but it was a common theme. Well, I just spend 3 days at Mission Beach in San Diego. It was great!!! I had never seen the ocean and I'm glad I went. It definitely is something to see. Now I'm just trying to maintain the serenity, peace and quiet that I got on my trip.
Only downside is that we drove six hours. Yes, we took breaks, but today I do have a pain in my calf. But no redness or swelling. And I do have a filter. But it does worry me a little. However, on the other hand. It is not easy to walk through the sand to the beach. I didn't realize how deep the sand would be.
It did give me incentive to get in better shape and go back.
Actually, our next trip is to the Grand Canyon. 26 years living in Arizona and I've never seen the Grand Canyon.

That is great! The ocean is a magnificent sight. Congrats on getting there. And congrats to having the courage to travel that long. My first big trip post PE is coming in July. A bit nervous about driving 8 hrs by myself, but hearing other's stories help.

I'm happy for you that you managed to take this trip. Since my first PE I have moved close to the Gulf of Mexico and it's been a wonderful change for me - I breathe much better here and almost no matter how bad I'm feeling, I always feel better when I go to the beach, physically and emotionally. The one thing I learned pretty fast is to get down to the solid, damp sand close to the water as quickly as possible, because it's complete torture on my body to try to walk in dry sand, I just can't do it.

I did find that I breathe better in San Diego. My pulmonologist was anxious to see if my breathing was better over there. I'd love to live there, but I heard the cost of living is too high. So, I guess I can stay in the desert. Or perhaps look into the Gulf of Mexico. Besides having medical issues, I live with my parents who are literally driving me crazy.

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
