By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.
Hey there you wonderful folks! I'm 2+ weeks off warfarin and so happy that all is well ... I think... I have noticed that in the last 2 weeks that I have gained about 6 pounds!!!! Not eating differently in fact more salads as it is HOT as anything here. The first week after seeing a few pounds more, I started really watching what I was eating... so more fish, veggies. The next week, had gained 3 MORE pounds! I work out every morning religiously at the fitness center... have since 2 weeks out of the hospital in January. I look like I have NO muscle tone now????? So strange... NOW, I will admit to having a ultra light beer now that I'm off warfarin... was having a small glass of wine every night, but no beer... can't believe that a 93 cal. beer is putting on this weight. Has anybody here had any strange issues like this after going off warfarin? I was so excited about my life going back to normal after 6 months and now THIS.... yuck! Thanks, Donna

I've actually (FINALLY) gained a few pounds ON warfarin. I go off next week, but have lost 20+ lbs while on warfarin, so I would be happy to get a little of it back!

I gained weight while on Coumadin, but I think it was due to the fear of dark green leafy veggies and other things. I so hope I lose some weight while I'm off these 3 weeks. I was actually just starting to lose weight over the past 2 months.

My aunt lost weight while on warfarin and promptly gained it again when she went off and she also probably ate more unhealthy while on it than off because she adhered to the antiquated 'no greens while on warfarin' school of thought.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper?
