Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.

I was in car wreck 2 weeks ago a fender bender hit from behind but I did hit my head on back of seat hard so of course off to ER to make sure no bleeds. They scanned me head to toe.
Today I was 4 feet from boat dock and instead of putting it in neutral I hit full throttle and hit boat dock hard and my head went forward and back with pretty good force. My speed never got up there it was just like that of a bumper car but I did not have anything behind my head to stop the motion.
I do have dull back and neck pain but nothing major. No headache but I keep reading that if you are on blood thinners you can get subdural hematoma by whiplash. I have anxiety disorder so my PE 3 years ago puts my brain on over drive. I don't want to go to the ER for every little thing.
Can you please tell me I don't he to be surrounded in bubble wrap for the rest of my life.

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
I don't think we have to live in bubble wrap. We just have to be more aware than most people.
Over time, you'll start to get a better feel for what might be a real problem and what isn't. Head stuff, from my perspective, is definitely worth keeping an eye on. If the pain gets worse or you have more symptoms, I'd get checked out ... and I'd say the same thing even if you weren't on thinners.
We do have to be aware and maybe a little more cautious, but there's no reason to live in bubble wrap, from my perspective.
