By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.
Hi all
Sorry but I have just come on for a moan!
Having had about 6 weeks of feeling great (Almost back to normal I would say), I have for the last few days felt very tired and short of breath again.
It is not like the breathless I had just before PE more a horrible tightness like I have been on a mile run!
My INR was theraputic last week and I cant say the pain is any worse (just the usual I have been having).
Have tried my ventolin but doesnt seem to do much and makes me shaky if I use it too much.
Does anyone get episodes like this?

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
You know, I do. I think mine are related to one of three things: indigestion/acid reflux, anxiety, and/or too much focus on my breathing. What I mean by that is that ever since my PE, I tend to over think breathing. So, I think I forgot how to just breath normal. I don't know how to explain it.
It's hard to sort it all out, isn't it?
Rmb I also get pretty bad acid reflux,the pain from that is so bad!

PS: and don't ever think your a baby just because you need a little reassurance once in awhile.
Many thanks for your understanding and even more for the hugs. Am trying not to concentrate on it too much cos you are all right there is often an element of anxiety which doesnt help.
Still much the same but getting some cold like symptoms so maybe thats waht is happening.
Even so if it is no better after weekend will get it checked out and if told it is anxiety will take it on the chin! Better that than a you-know-what!

I also have problems when I get a cold - my heart rate goes up while I am catching the cold and while I have it. I also have much wore breathing and coughing.
Interesting that you have ventolin. I am on proair and docs seem to be in denial the PE made my chest like this. Luckily my PCP is rolling with it. I need to see him to see if there are other meds - proair 2 puff 2x a day makes my heart race and my head hurt like... well... just plain awful... I am back down to 1 2x a day with albuterol as needed.
What do I get on rough days... feeling I need to sigh a lot, chest tightness like I am blowing up a balloon in my chest, mild, sharp chest pain, burning in my chest, coughing.... coughing and shortness of breath are the end of the spectrum with the others coming first.
ER docs have seen reactive airway disease in my lungs - so guessing that is a gift from the baby lung tissue that was created to heal the clotted areas.
