Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.
My last dose of warfarin was last Sunday. A few unexpected things since then. One, and the silliest of them, I am more nervous about eating foods with vitamin K now then I ever was taking the meds! LOL Makes no sense, I know! Somehow, I now associate it with a clotting agent. Like I said, silly. (for the record, I have not actually changed my diet, just something I was thinking about)
Two, the bloating and such seems to have disappeared. I had not noticed it much before, was just something to deal with. Now that I am off however, I can feel the difference.
Three, I don't feel nearly as drained as I did. I was napping at least a 3-4 times a week, but have not since.
Last but certainly not least, I am not nearly as paranoid as I thought I would be. Nervous yes, but I am dealing with it. Perhaps it was just getting to the day of going off and letting go of the dread/fear because it is done now. I think maybe RMB said something like that in a post a few months back. The anticpation of it is worse than the act itself.
It is entirely possible, (and likely) that many of the changes I am feeling have nothing at all to do with warfarin, but rather slightly less anxiety. I still have it of course, and I am still nervous about clotting again, but it is somehow less. Maybe coming off has in some small way allowed me to partially close that chapter of my life. Honestly I don't know. Whatever the reason, feeling a bit better!

On the other side, are you noticing more hair growth?
Jean - glad youve managed the big jump - hope all continues well for you - keep us up to date! I thought the bloated tummy was due to sitting around during recovery! lol - maybe theres hope for me to get rid of that too!
It really is so incredibly difficult to decipher what is causing what! There are so many contributing factors at play.

The problem is that it interacts with warfarin and causes it to work less. If you're not take warfarin, then eating or not eating Vit K isn't really an issue.
