Well I hear that your tired of going to the doctor so might try to an Tums or something like that. Constipation might cause the pain your having. It migjt be the meds. I would try the simple over the counter remeadies. If however, the pain gets to a 7, 8, or nine with 10 being the worst pain or begin having to have a fever then you need to go to the doctor.

I'm sorry I'm such a dope. When I read your post I got my left in right confused. Now that I get that it is your right side do you still have your appendix? If you still have your appendix and it being Friday tomorrow you might just call and get into your doc just to be on the safe side. I hope like ver much I'm totally wrong. Take care of yourself.

my stomach pain started a week after PE found. All the docs pretty much dismissed it and wanted me to take anti anxiety meds. 3 months later after a lot of pushing on my part, found out I had low ferritin level and was having anemic symptoms - along with SOB, chest pain and very fuzzy thinking. My PE was from BC pills. I was on BC because of years of heavy bleeding. Don't know what your cause is of the PE but if it involved heaving bleeding I would check all of your iron levels. A lot of docs don't test the ferritin level. Good luck.

Yeah, warfarin actually can cause gastrointestinal upset, so that could be it. but it's hard to know for sure. Sometimes, appendicitis feels the way you describe, particularly with pain in the belly button. I'm not saying you have appendicitis, but you may want to just give your doc a call and let him know what you're experiencing.

I've been taking Warfarin for just over 3 months now. About three weeks ago I noticed some strong sharp pains in my upper gut, just below the chest. I had an upper GI endoscopy (no abnormalities found). Yesterday I had an abdominal ultrasound (results should be in soon) and I've got a barium x-ray next week.

If nothing is indeed found, I might be inclined to think it is Warfarin causing the pain, especially after reading this thread. I wonder.

darn tooten warfarin can cause chronic gastrointestinal upset. my first two years on warfarin i could barely eat,my stomach was in constant pain i was told it could not be the warfarin. i even got a hold of a record that said my pain was psychosomatic. made me so made. it was not that doctor that was pukeing every day. every time i tried to eat i was wreathing in pain. damned if you do and damned if you don,t . i finally ended going down to a specialist at UCLA and he prescribed what is know as an old school drug for depression but it is not used for that because you would have to take to much for it to work for depression it was called desiprimine 20 mg is what i started at and in two weeks i was out of pain and eating i cried it was such a relief. now this time i am on lovenox and fo a while was having similar type pain and i revisited the medication and it did not help so don,t know but when i was on the warfarin and the chronic stomach pain was unbearable and no one else has any ideas left except to say it was in my head that medication made all the difference in the word.
