By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.

I am feeling sorry for myself and more fed up as the day goes on. I started with a sore throat last night, this morning my chest was tight and hurt a bit. Now I am wheezing like I'm a heavy smoker (never had one in my life) my chest is really sore, I'm coughing and it hurts right through to my back.

I don't for a minute think it's another PE but I'm wondering if to go to the out of hours drs. I hate myself for whinging but sometimes this sucks!

sounds like you have the same cold that my wife has, she's been coughing, had a sore throat and generally feeling wiped out

Argh, I know the feeling. Last week I had a bit of soar throat and runny nose. I was even taking nyquil cause I didn't feel that well. But I too am feeling extremely sorry for myself cause I haven't experienced bad chest pressure in a while (you know like a few weeks or something) yet just a couple of hours ago I started feeling it. It's so weird how things come and go. My INR is back where it should be though this week after a couple of weeks of being a little low so I guess that's good.

I hope your wife's feeling better soon, I'm heading to the dr first thing in the morning. I don't want to risk pneumonia again.

I'm glad you got your inr under control, I've been lucky with mine for a few weeks now. Yup we get used to feeling something like normal and then "bam" it knocks us on our ass again! Honey, lemon and bed for me. Hope you're feeling better soon too

Hi all I think that taking the Airborne nd cold-eze-zinc cough drops cut the cold in half. The Zinc is supposed to stop the replication of the virus and shorten the length of the cold. Blessings, Teri
