Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.

I had my PE and DVT, one year from next Friday. I have been off all medication since October. No known cause really other than birth control that probably caused me to have a Protein S deficiency.
Last week, i started having some balance issues. I rolled over in bed and the room spun a little. The next morning, I got up and had some major balance issues. This happened once before but the room literally spun and i was diagnosed with an inner ear infection, given a motion sickness medicine and told, there was nothing could be done. In a day or so, it cleared up.
This time, a week later, I still have symptoms. My vision feels not quite right...sort of like when you are on a bunch of cold medication and you are out of it if that makes sense (I'm not any medication). I was driving today and went to look behind to make sure I didn't have a car in my blind spot and everything starting moving again and spinning. Its been like that since I got home. As long as I don't move my head, I feel ok.
Im 39, no other health issues. I had some thigh pain earlier this week, that lasted only part of a day, and so now Im freaked out that i got another clot and it went to my brain.
I don't have a headache although I had a really bad one the day this all hit. I don't have any speak issues, or walking issues other than that caused by my balance issues.
I know I should go to the doctor but I also know that this probably won't happen until next week. Anybody else have balance issues like this? something I should be worried About?

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
I'm no medico but it sounds to me like Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo.
Had it myself and it sure is disconcerting. Room would spin especially after just lying down. Almost any change in head position would bring on vertigo. Was standing at a pedestrian crossing waiting for the lights to change and turned my head to watch the traffic pass and nearly fell into the road.
Went away after a week or so without any treatment but I've had small episodes on occasion since. Generally they all resolve without treatment.
Here's a link - it's an Australian site but don't worry we have the best medical system in the world.
Hope it helps

Many have been related to sinuses and inner ear infections like you are talking about. Ear issues can be dicey and it is possible that the first med you were on shut it down for a bit but that it came raring back once you stopped the medicine. I would definitely go back to the doc for that kind of evaluation. There are a lot of bugs that can get in our ears and sinuses and not every antibiotic will totally shut down every one.
It could also be the orthostatic hypotension (same as positional vertigo that larsing mentions). I got that about three months after my PEs. Basically felt fine when lying down but when I got up and got active, I just felt really, really horrid. I added more water and electrolytes to my diet and started eating a banana (for the potassium) every day. Felt like a new girl in just a few days. My eyes were also "boggled" with this and I had a hard time looking around or focusing on anything far away. This can be tested for in your docs office with a very simple test and about ten minutes.
Seriously, no reason to think this has anything to do with your clot history. But, it can be a serious quality of life issue. Get it checked out, make sure the infection in your ears isn't back, and make sure you are staying hydrated.
Best wishes!
Agree, get it checked out, but there's lots of causes of vertigo. Mine turned out to be associated with migraine. I'd gone to a specialist physio to be checked out for benign positional vertigo and after lots of questions & tests, she said it was associated with migraine. I found this really weird, but followed her diet advice and I have to say it worked. What I found particularly odd, was that although I did suffer alot from headaches, I didn't have them when I was having the vertigo. Mine's much better now - really important to keep hydrated, avoid red wine, hard cheese, cafeine, aspartame, smoked meats/fish - and there's other foods to cut back.
Get yourself checked out by your GP but am sure it's ok.
Take care!
