Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.
Sunday I worked my 8 hours, laid down immediately when I got home and then couldn't sleep. Monday...six hours and was so tired I came home and slept 3 hours and was back in bed at my usual time. Today only 5 hours and I slept again when I walked in the door. And I'm so tired at work. I sit down and am on the phone constantly, and I just get so tired and winded and the coughing starts.
My bed is still my best friend. I know "it takes time"...but I want my life back. Six months ago I was working, seeing my granddaughter on weekends, doing what I wanted, living my life...then it came to a crashing halt in August when they began to tell me they had no clue...up until October when I collapsed.
They are still worried about my heart. Can't let it get over 120 (which isn't hard today) and not allowed to go back to cardiac rehab yet.
I'm frustrated and impatient. And I had a real problem today. One part of my job is to cancel accounts for cardmembers who have passed away. A gentleman called me about his wife. Seems she dropped dead on 12/31 and he was so sad. And then in the midst of this, he said, "she was only 55". That was it for me...I'm 55 and I started to cry with him.
The only good part is I discovered I have a new boss and low and behold when I tried to explain why I wasn't bouncing back, he said, I know what you mean, I had bilateral PEs. That was the only bright part, he knows how I feel.

I was pleased to read your boss understands it. That can really make a difference. Mine has a niece who suffered dvt/pe two years ago, so she understands that this takes time.
It gets better! Over and over again, it gets better.
And take the time to sleep! I know it seems excessive, but someday you'll look back on this and be amazed at how far you've come.
