Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.

Yesterday, I wasn't feeling as well, so I called the doctor. He had me come right down and took an x-ray. Now, I have fluid in my lungs which comes from my congestive heart failure. So, glad it wasn't complications from the PE, but still, it sucks. Anyway, today I was sitting here wondering if I should take a nap...I was tired. Or "push" through it and stay up. I read the posts on this site and decided "why am I pushing myself" I've only been home a week, and I took the nap. One thing I've quickly learned is that it's going to take some time. It took 2-1/2 months for them to find the problem and it won't go away over night. And I've been struggling to work that whole time, wondering why I felt worse and worse. So, I'm taking the time now to heal. I did ask the doctor again..."how long before I feel good." His response...again..."it takes a long time."

I take a nap everyday almost. It's my new habit and I love it. It has been a month and 2 days since my PEs and I also have returned to work. My body needs the extra rest still and I look forward to it. An afternoon nap makes my evenings better! :)

For the two and a half months before I was diagnosed (they thought it was my congestive heart failure) I was only working six hours and taking a 2 hour nap. Since this, I am still taking the 2 hour nap. The one day I didn't I paid for it. I'm trying to be patient.

Naps are really important while you're healing. I don't know how long it's been since you were diagnosed, but I had to take naps for months after having PE, and if you have heart failure on top of it, well that's going to affect your energy levels and your ability to push through. I do the same thing quite too often and push through, then I really pay for it. I think that if you have the circumstances to be able to take a nap to help you get through the day, then just do it and feel as well as you can.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
