Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.

Hopefully this is OK to post here. I posted before that I was racing Ironman Canada in about 5 weeks on August 25. During my long 17 mile run on Sunday, following my 2 mile ocean swim, even though the run got hard I started getting these massive feelings of gratitude that I was able to be out there and be active. As many of us went through, I sort of though my life was over when I became a lifer. It wasn't, it's just a little different. And I mean really, very little.
On that run I decided to race Ironman for more than jsut a finish, and in honor of all of us that have gone through it and survived, those that were not so lucky, and those that will unfortunately join our ranks.
I will be wearing my stop the clot tri top to help raise awareness of the cause. Almost more importantly, I want to hopefully inspire others that are lifers that life goes on and you can continue to do those thiings that challenge you.
I've set up a fundraising page at http://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/chrismenjou/ironmancanada
Any and all donations appreciated, or simply cheer me on from afar. I will post the bib number when it's up, so you can follow on race day, and so I can use your energy to help get me through a long day.
Thanks for reading :)

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
Over halfway to my goal, we're getting there! Looking forward to racing in the Stop the Clot jersey and spreading the word

We are all with you, man!
Almost to my goal. I don't need to tell you guys this can affect anyone. Last week I read about an 18 year college tack runner, and a 33 year old July Ironman finisher that both got PEs. Every little bit helps if you can. And if not, just send me your positive energy Sunday!
