Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.

Hi everyone:
It's been nine months since my clotting episode: two DVTs in my left leg and large PEs in each of my lungs. It turned out that I have Factor V Leiden I mutation. I was on Warfarin for about six months and was then taken off it in June. I felt worried about coming off the Warfarin but my Hematologist assured me that I should be ok, however, he did put me on aspirin (daily dose of 81mg). Well, so far so good. I haven't had too many lingering symptoms but once in a while I will have some pain or cramps in both legs and I automatically jump up and think, "oh boy, could this be a clot?" Anyway, if you're new to the board, understand that you will get better. Once the acute stage is over with, your body will improve and you'll be ok.

Thanks for coming back to let us know and hope you keep going. The "understand that you will get better" is a good place to start for most of us.

Thank you for sharing your progress. I've been struggling with negative thinking about this whole situation and it's nice to hear a positive story!

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
