Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.

Has any one ever had a problem like this from blood thinners such as coumadin or lovenox?
a few weeks ago i woke up to find all my thousands of beautiful freckles on my arms are now red colored or petechiae. under skin bleeds along with a nose bleed. my first thought was the lovenox so i called the hematologist he is over an hour away. he ordered all kinds of blood work to be done locally and said they were all fine but wanted the local urgent care doctor to check it out. nightmare begins. i have been referred to death. a week after the petechiae showed up i started itching all over and being that i am on the lovenox i look like i have been put through he meat grinder everywhere i have scratched is bright red from head to toe.
the blood work is all fine but none of the doctors has a clue what it is from each one looks entirely baffled like they have never seen this before. makes me feel good ha? i have another prescription to try for the itching. i have been resistant to benadryl because i would like to sit up and speak not sleep 24/7. hope this one helps before i give myself an infection from scratching so much. at the same time as the petechiae showed up i noticed i had sores all the way down my esophagus also and every time i started to eat or drink anything i was throwing up this has been weeks. Dr. still has no clue that would be Dr. #5 or 6 by now. like i said refferealed to death. i have already tried connect the dots on the arms thought maybe the answer would be there as good a guess as any. rats no answer. maybe someone has seen this before. i haven't changed meds in a long time. no new soaps foods, anything different that i can pull from my overworked head. thanks in advance for possible ideas. if not i give it one more week and i will be another color altogether as long as i keep the freckles just would rather have them brown again.

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
I hope you get to the bottom of this. It must be frustrating. Sorry I couldn't help. Good luck.
Maybe just try the Benadryl when you're going to bed? Might help you sleep, might reduce inflammation for a while (and help you heal), and might help you decide if this is an allergic reaction. On me, it usually wears off in 4-6 hours anyway, so doesn't keep me sleepy all day.
I tried brand name coumadin a few months later, with constant headaches, slightly upset stomach and generaly just "Not feeling right", went back on the Lovenox. For whatever reason, our bodies can reject anything we put in, even if we have been using that substance a while, or have used it before.
Are you on coumadin or lovenox ?

I had rashes and was itchy beyond belief! I had to stop taking it as the rash was all over my body, I looked like I had a horrible sun burn! They took me off of it. The problem is I still have the itching! It is 4 weeks after my last needle! I'm still am itchy everywhere there was an injection! Benadryl doesn't work!
I am pretty sure the makers of lovenox are not telling us something. There are long term effects of this drug that are not going to go away. I think I will be itchy now until I die!
