Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.

I had a bilateral PE and DVT3 years ago. I have no risk factors. It was attributed to birth control pills and I have been off them ever since. I am not on Coumadin anymore.
My original PE symptoms started with upper back pain that lasted minutes, and within a few hours, the pain traveled from the back to the from/top of the lungs/neck, and then down to the bottom of the lung, front pain. No symptoms at all on the left. It was horrible pain like somebody was stabbing me with a knife. Hard to ignore. When i stood up, the pain went away, and when I laid down, it got worse.
But my asthma changed after my PE. I get chest pain and SOB when a lung infection is brewing which can mimic the symptoms. As such, I have had several false alarms. I don't want to keep going to the ER and doctor every time I feel something.
But, I woke up in the middle of the night Monday with horrible back pain like I pulled a muscle in the middle of the night. It hurt anytime I moved. It was around my shoulder blade, but it didn't hurt to move my shoulder or arm. I assumed I I just slept on it wrong. The pain didn't really go away, it just sort of moved now down the upper back but middle, and across my front chest and sort of dow the middle. It hurts to breathe, cough, or move. Unlike last time in stead of stabbing, its throbbing, and is worst when I am up walking or doing anything.
I just don't know of these symptoms are another potential PE? I have no idea.

Now that I am not talking to my whatever best friend, I realized that her life is full of drama. I had grown tired of hearing her stories about her boyfriend many months ago. She basically had been monopolizing conversations for that long too. She pretty much stopped asking me questions about me. I passed her in front of her classroom the other day and didn't even look at her. I am...

Actually, it sounds an awful lot like the gallbladder attacks I used to have - they always started in my upper back and the pain would wrap around me to the front of my chest. Still needs to be looked into though.
