Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.

I was in the hospital for 2 nights after the PE diagnosis. Then sent home with oxygen. I've got tanks that I can wheel around with me when I leave and a device in my apartment that turns air into oxygen.
Question for the group - did others get sent home with oxygen? And how long did you think you needed it? Obviously it's up to me, and I do have a home oxygen sat tool that shows I'm getting almost as high readings without it as with.
But I still keep it on. I'm nervous about being short of breath without it outside of my apartment, but hate wheeling the tank around.

She basically had been monopolizing conversations for that long too. She pretty much stopped asking me questions about me. I passed her in front of her classroom the other day and didn't even look at her. I am...

Panic and anxiety can make you feel short of breath so that sometimes is part of it.
I am a big believer in find a doc you trust and follow his/her advice.
If you need it use it. If it is anxiety related, I hope you find peace enough to do without it. Good luck.
I went home with o2 & am just now feeling as if I don't need it .. I had to sleep with it at night bc o2 levels were out of whack & use the push/carry tanks... (I dont need it at night any longer and only use it minimally for increased activity now since last weeks) ... But even tho its a pain, I see the benefit of it... esp when those crazy sob/cant get air to body/ light headed/sick feelings set in.. I feel like my body was suffering without it..
I have a hydrolizer attached to my O2 concentrator to humidify the air also. Perhaps a room humidifier might work---- I don't know.
A bloody nose can result from too dry nasal passages and the older the person the more likely. You know we don't want bloody noses. :)
