Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.

i've just taken one big step toward coming off the warfarin - had a venous study this morning and the technician told me there are no clots and everything looks fine. YAY!
saw my pulmonologist yesterday who isn't inclined to repeat the CT scan to check out the PE clots, nor am i - i'm symptom-free and his thinking is that if the originating clot is gone, the resulting ones are probably gone as well. he drew some blood for the leiden factor 5 test, just in case. assuming that comes back clean, i'll be stopping the warfarin and consulting w a hematologist for a couple last clotting factor tests. then...keeping my fingers crossed to be clot-free going forward.
thanks to everyone here for the support and for acting as my sounding board. it's nice to not feel so alone when you're going through this!

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
