By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.

I watched some eaglets hatching last year on ustream. A nice way to while away the day when feeling crappy!

At least with the hummingbird, her metabolism forces her to leave the nest often to feed. The eagle mom just sat and sat and sat---- while her mate brought fresh meat to her. (grin)

Love hummingbirds. I have a feeder in my backyard and I can watch them for HOURS. Love those little guys.

The babies (Bert and Ernie) are now almost fully fledged and sit on the edge of the nest looking at the world. They've not taken their maiden voyage yet but thinkin' on it!

You got me sucked in. I checked the link yesterday. It was really fun to watch the mother feed them and watch the young ones test out their wings.

I checked back this morning and one appears to have left the nest. Hopefully his first flight has gone well.

Both Bert and Ernie have fledged!!! Bert fledged yesterday about 3 p.m and Ernie sometime later, maybe even this morning. I missed both the 'events' but there's a vid documenting.

I have Empty Nest Syndrome. :(
