By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.

Hi all,
I've been off the coumadin for 1 week now and I feel awful! My body aches all over, I have a terrible pain in my left elbow and my head hurts....anyone out there know if this is typical....my dr doesn't seem to think anything is wrong....meanwhile I feel terrible....any advice would be appreciated.

Wow such irony, you take the warfarin you feel terrible, you don't
take the warfarin you feel terrible. My guess is your body will be
making some adjustments for a while. Hope you get to feeling
better soon.

I've been off the warfarin/coumadin since December 19th, so a few weeks now. I love it! I've had the complete opposite experience. My energy is returning, the memory loss improving, I've stopped throwing up constantly, the headaches are better, my hair is slowly not falling out as much. I've not heard of many people feeling worse off coumadin personally.

Maybe find another doctor for another opinion? maybe something else is going on that you weren't noticing with all the stress of coumadin treatment?
