I kind of feel like that every day but then again I have only had one day in therapeutic range since I was diagnosed (Nov 11). I have those heart flutters or rushes or whatever you call them most every day. My dosage just keeps going up. Up to 10 now and the last INR was 1.5. The general crappy feeling is there most of the time. Oh and my hair is falling out like CRAZY!!!!

Warfarin can cause GI upset like ou describe.

Yep, I definitely get nauseated if my dose changes. I had a low INR (1.6) last week, so my thrombosis clinic upped my dose to 7.5mg. I've had nausea every morning since. I find I eventually adapt to the higher dose, but until I do, my mornings are pretty much a write-off. The queasiness usually goes away by noon, and I find nibbling on bland cookies or crackers helps.

I was JUST telling my husband about how the last couple of days I have been getting really nauseated after taking the warfarin. I also am getting the gas and cramps......it seems like my stomach is constantly gargling. Funny thing is I just upped my dose two nights ago to 15mg (but just for that night), but tonight I am back at 10mg so I am not sure why tonight I got the symptoms again after taking my warfarin. I hate that the nurses love to do those "kick start" doses because I have read articles that talk about them being dangerous for hemorrhaging. Thanks for posting this, I was beginning to wonder what the cause was. I assumed it was the warfarin, but wasn't sure.

I've been getting nauseous a lot more too... I think it does have to do with the increase in dosage. Everytime I have to have an increase I notice it.

Do you guys take your warfarin with food? That might help offset any GI issues.

I did when I first started taking it, but it seems to be gone now.

There have been threads before about GI issues and anticoagulants. If such symptoms persist then ask your prescriber about a trial switch to Coumadin, or to Warfarin if you are already on the branded Coumadin. The two of them have significantly different inert buffer ingredients. Some people have a better tolerance of one vs the other.

You know it's funny, ive always been very curious about the affects warfarin has on us. I've experienced many different things all of which I am convinced are due to the medication.

I used to find that I would get nausea also, and also that as my INR rose, the greater my headaches. Which my doctor said should be unrelated, and I'm sure he is right, but it still always got me thinking. We all report the same thing?

Whenever I ask my clinic about a side effect, the only one they seem concerned with is bleeding and unexplained bruising.

Nausea, diarreah, headaches, general yuckiness are all side effects they don't seem to think are related to the medication.

I agree with M2LR, it seems like most symptoms I am experiencing and believe are form warfarin are symptoms my doctor has brushed off and even said things like "well, it isn't likely that it is the warfarin". Whatever! I never had these symptoms until I started taking it! Ha ha ha.

As for he nausea....I made sure to eat a sandwich before I took it last night and the nausea was greatly reduced. So, maybe eating with it can help others alleviate the nausea. Best of luck!!

I'm sure some of experience some side effects that maybe aren't documented. I do think though that most things we experience we think are from warfarin, but are actually from having a horrendous assault on our bodies from the PEs.

But there are some common, non serious documented side effects from warfarin. This is from Drugs.Com:
