By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.
Has anyone had their migraines improve while on coumadin?
Before I was on coumadin, my migraines were disabling.
I had to be treated in the hospital by IV 10 times in 2008 for intractable migraines.
I was in a downward spiral with my migraines prior to my PE in December 2008.. Migraines were happening about 65% of my days.
Since the PE and going on coumadin, I have seen a dramatic improvement!

It is a high price to pay, going on dangerous anticoagulants, but it is good to find a positive side-effect.
I read this a while back and found it intriguing...
In my case, I'm a "lifer" anyway after 2 PEs (one in 2005 and one in 2008) so I'll take my coumadin for both PE prevention and migraine prevention!
I wonder if others on here get migraines...
