Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.
As long as there is no pain, I wouldn't worry too much.
So, is that still the clot or is it damage from the clot?
When I felt the pain start a couple days ago I started to worry and get nervous but I'm therapeutic and my hematologist doesn't seem concerned.
Has anyone else whose clot has been clear had these feelings?
My PEs were gone after five weeks but I still had pain, SOB, etc. for about nine months. My first DVT was in 2005 and it is still in my leg now but I felt back to 100% after about two years. Even though the clot is still there, I can cross my legs, kneel, crouch, etc. with no pain.
A lot of times healing has nothing to do with whether the clot is still there or not. My cardiologist compared it to getting cut with a knife. Most of the healing happens after the knife is gone and it can take a while.
For those of you less than six months out, don't give up hope! I kept improving for well up to two years with all my clots.
