Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.

Losing It

Last night it hit me how very dangerous my heart racing is. And the reality of whether or not I can handle work on Monday set in. And today, I'm nervous and not doing as well. I sit here alone and wonder if I can handle this all. I've been so tough and so strong and not wanting to give intgo my feelings...but last night and today....it just hit me.

Of course it also doesn't help that I have an 80 year old father who had triple bypass 3 weeks ago and has a good and then a bad day and is being moved all over the hospital. And yesterday my mom had shoulder replacement surgery.

And I just want to say "enough".

Listen to your body. If it's too much then leave. They will survive. What's important is that you take care of yourself!!

Hey there - I understand completely. I have been thinking about returning to work in the new year, but then I will have a really bad day and question whether it's the right choice. I got to the "enough" stage on Saturday night. It's passed, but I know it will be back, too. I guess we can only take it a day at a time.

I hope your parents are doing well. It must be hard to be so worried about other people as well as dealing with your own health issues.

It is enough, and it's ok to give into your feelings. Sometimes we just have to surrender a bit. I'm a tough broad, but there are times when I just can't have it all on my shoulders, 24/7. You don't have to be all things right now.

And the holidays don't help, because everything is so damned heightened. Please take a day for yourself and check out a bit.

Since I wrote that, I tried to go back to work. Made it one week and that was it. Now, I'm out until January 6th. As far as emotions and feelings. I put up boundaries. Put myself first and am doing what I need to do to take care of myself. Yes, I care about my parents, but actually, they are still doing in some ways better than me. They both are home and my 23 year old son is taking care of them. And he's doing very well. In fact, it was suggested that he can be given some sort of certification by the state and become a home health care provider and be paid to do it. This actually could turn into a career for him. And me, I'm pacing myself. Doctor told me to take little walks and do some things and rest and build up to going back to work in January (have too or I lose my job). And I am doing that. I take my walks. Oh and someone else on here said they plan their day and have things to do. And I'm doing that. I have doctor's appt., groceries and other things and I plan one activity a day and it's going pretty well. I don't take on things I can't handle right now. And even on Christmas, I took all day to bake 2 pies and had a pre-cooked ham and my son cooked the side dishes. This has actually been life changing.

    We all have 24 hours in a day.  How we spend these hours is important.  Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do.  Gonna have to work on that.Your turn.  Tell me another truth.
