Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.
Best advice is don't ever hesitate to ask if you think something is wrong and listen to your body, trust your instincts, if it doesn't seem right, ask, get it checked... -p
Petvs has good advice: write down what you want to know from your doctor and write down what your doctor says. I've also had my doctor write down instructions/notes for me if I'm really not sure I'll remember what she said. If you're really worried about your memory, take a friend to your appointment with you to help you remember stuff and to get a different perspective. (Sometimes what my husband remembers about my appointments is much more helpful than what I remember!)
Hang in there and take it slow...if you think you're pushing it, you probably are! Easy is better at this point in the recovery!
