Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.
Pain is a pretty subjective thing. I wouldn't say allergies causes me chest pain. It does make breathing not always really comfortable.
You know your body best
I have never suffered with hayfever in the past. However, the pain is definitely getting worse (exhaling is very uncomfortable), so I think I am going to try to see my dr this week just so I don't drive myself crazy with worry
My PEs were in September 2012 and I've noticed that a lot of things will trigger the PE-like symptoms. Included in those are the allergies I have (hay fever, mold, etc.) and cold/wet OR hot/wet weather. I guess any extremes in weather will trigger an event!
Been to the Dr, allergies affecting my breathing which was making my lung hurt. Been given antihistamines and it is much better :)
It's interesting because the doctor doesn't even consider that some residual lung pain is normal post-PE. So now I'll be going in for chest x-rays and such. I suspect everything will come up fine in the tests, but I still want to go through the process with him. Hopefully it will give him more experience he can apply to any future PE patients he has.
I'm a little curious about the pollen count aspect now. I wonder if it can impact me even if I don't have allergies.
