By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Hey guys, I've been therapeutic for almost 6 weeks now. Taking 2.5mg of Warfarin every day and keeping my INR consistant between 2-3.
So anyways, prior to me having P.E, i have skin conditions such as chronic urticaria (hives).. i have gotten allergy tested in multiple times and they cannot find a cause except for the fact that it comes and goes when it wants. I take zyrtec every single day to counteract it and stops it completely. There are days when if it ever gets bad, Benadryl is far more effective but only lasts for 4-6 hours. So anyways after being on warfarin in the last 6 weeks, i was told zyrtec was completely safe to take with my meds.
About a week and half ago, i started developing Eczema. I have not changed my diet, if anything i've been eating cleaner. Few days ago, eczema went away, and on comes the return of hives, head to toe. Since i am taking zyrtec/benadryl it blocks the itchiness, i still get spotty but it fails to develop, so i think it's doing its job. But the problem is prior to me being on coumadin, zyrtec/benadryl completely blocks it. Again, i have not changed my diet, and avoided stuff that gets me allergic (shellfish). I called doctors office a week and half back about eczema/hives, and they told me it was safe to do so because there could be other triggers since i only started developing skin conditions 4-5 weeks after being on coumadin. Does anyone have experience with rashes/hives/eczema while on coumadin? Should i call my PCP back and take something else? I have been feeling alot better (speedy recovery i'm guessing).
These breakouts are medium and not severe. I've had severe breakouts in the past without zyrtec and they were alot worse. The other thing i'm considering is, pollen in my area has been extremely high in the last week and half also, and my breakouts have been on and off the last 2 weeks. I've also read side effects of warfarin can cause hives/breakouts. Hard to understand what to do next, mentally i feel great, but this is giving me a cause for concern to take my anxiety med as well since its putting me back in a state of mind (thinking too much) when i dont need to.

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
You could call your PCP and ask if you should take something else but that's your call. Your pharmacist may be able to help you out in terms of recommending over the counter treatment and he may have some ideas on whether this kind of reaction is related to warfarin weeks after starting it. You could try switching to coumadin instead of warfarin to see if that makes a difference. People here have reported reactions to the dyes in warfarin or coumadin and so they sometimes switch to the other see if changing helps. Note that coumadin may be more expensive.
And, truthfully, maybe your immune system is a little compromised, even though you feel "great." I mean, you're recovering from a major physical event and maybe your body just isn't doing as well fighting off the allergies as it usually does. Maybe you just need a higher dose of the Zyrtec for a while to help get through this. When you get to the point where you're well past recovery, you might not need that higher dose.
Also, I'd go in and actually talk to the doctor if at all possible. Sometimes nuance gets lost when passing messages on the phone. See if they have suggestions. You have a LOT of stuff you mention in your post and it might be time to get some help sorting through it all. Coming off the warfarin too soon, due to eczema, probably isn't your best bet.
